In January-September 2002, PETROLESPORT JSC handled 2,713.1 thousand tons of cargo, which is a 6.7% plus year-on-year. Timber and log export increased by 44.5% up to 1,197.6 thousand cub m against 828.9 thousand cub m in January-September 2001. General cargo transshipment decreased insignificantly to make 1,181.5 thousand tons, 94% of this volume being export designated ferrous metal scrap, non-ferrous metals, cellulose, etc. The port's container throughout remained on roughly the same level comprising 55,486 TEUs (or, 573.5 thousand tons).
