In January-September 2002, PETROLESPORT JSC handled 2,713.1 thousand tons of cargo, which is a 6.7% plus year-on-year.
Timber and log export increased by 44.5% up to 1,197.6 thousand cub m against 828.9 thousand cub m in January-September 2001.
General cargo transshipment decreased insignificantly to make 1,181.5 thousand tons, 94% of this volume being export designated ferrous metal scrap, non-ferrous metals, cellulose, etc.
The port's container throughout remained on roughly the same level comprising 55,486 TEUs (or, 573.5 thousand tons).

Ust-Luga Port Construction Plan Approved
The Ust-Luga Co JSC Board approved today of the working plan and budget 2002 for the port construction in the Luga bay of the Gulf of Finland in Leningrad Oblast.
According to Vladimir Yakunin, RF Deputy Transport Minister and Chairman of the Ust-Luga Co JSC Board, in the current year the company will continue the construction of a railway yard in front of the coal terminal, designing and construction of a railway yard in front of the mineral fertilizers complex and the oil terminal.
