Unifeeder Starts Service to Ust-Luga
Today in the morning the first container ship, m/v “Emotion” operated by Unifeeder berthed at Ust-Luga Container Terminal.
Michael Bonde, General Manager Benelux, France and the UK, Unifeeder, told SeaNews that the line will offer regular service to Ust-Luga in a rotation including also St. Petersburg. “I think Ust-Luga is a good alternative to St. Petersburg terminals”, he said adding that it is also convenient for cargo destined for Moscow. “We are delighted to be the first line to call at the new terminal, this demonstrates our commitment to the Russian market”.
The containers delivered today were transshipped via Hamburg. The cargo inside is ceramic tiles and tableware. They are currently undergoing customs inspection and may be carried by road to St. Petersburg already today, a NCC spokesperson told SeaNews.
The next container ship is scheduled to call at ULCT in the new year, on January 5.
