Foreign Trade Turnover via Baltic Customs

In January-September 2016

In January-September 2016 foreign trade turnover in the Baltic Customs’ region amounted to 16.5 mn dollars. The number of cargo declarations made 204.3 thousand, including 188.6 import declarations and 15.5 thousand export declarations.

Foreign trade cargo traffic in the Baltic Customs’ region in January-September made 9.5 mn tons, which is 3.8% below the same period last year. Import was down 4.3% to 6.7 mn tons, and export decreased 2.7% to 2.8 mn tons.

In the import structure, fruit, polymeric materials, ferrous metals, organic chemicals, meat and meat products had the largest shares.

Export consisted mainly of ferrous metals and timber.

The major countries exporting to Russia via the Baltic Customs were China, Ecuador and Germany.

The major importing countries were Turkey, Spain, China and Germany.
