Russian Railways Cargo Traffic

9 months 2016 results

According to Russian Railways JSC, in January-September 2016 the loading volume across the Russian Railways network made 911.6 mn tons. This figure is 1.3% above the 9 months 2015 result.

Coal volume grew 2.7% to 240.5 mn tons, coke was up 3.5% to 8.7 mn tons, ferrous and manganese ore up 1.5% to 82.6 mn tons.

Chemical and mineral fertilizers loading increased 3.2% year-on-year up 39.4 mn tons, timber was up 7.6% to 32.2 mn tons, ferrous metals up 1.9% to 52.8 mn tons, and ferrous metal scrap up 3.7% to 11 mn tons.

Cement was down 5.4% year-on-year to 2.4 mn tons, and industrial raw materials and molding materials decreased 0.4% to 25.9 mn tons.
