According to today’s Kommersant, the work of the Vostochny Sea Port customs checkpoint, which serves all the traffic to and from Vostochny, the largest port in Russia’s Far East, has been almost paralyzed.
SeaNews' local sources confirmed that at the present time prosecutor's office officials are taking "different operative and investigative actions".
According to the RF Federal Customs Service spokesman, the information about the commencement of prosecution against seven employees of the customs documentation and control department of the checkpoint (charged with the abuse of power asset) was announced on 20 July.
These actions of the prosecutor office have not affected the stevedores so far.

The Port of Shenzhen recorded a 32.12% rise in container throughput in the first half of the year, compared to last year, to 6.05 mn TEUs.
According to a report by Xinhua, the total amount of cargo handled by the port was 63.32 mn tons, up 24.32% compared with the same period last year, with foreign trade accounting for 41.30 mn tons, up 39.55%.
The report said that since March the monthly container throughput by Shenzhen Port exceeded 1 mn TEU in the subsequent four months, setting a new record in June, when the port handled 1.139 mn TEU.
