July 5, 2007 TransContainer, and Chinese "Container transportation corporation" have signed a letter of intent, which improves container pool mutual exploitation.
During the talks between the companies, it was decided to form a complete trains stocks at the border crossing Manchuria - Zabaikalsk.
The Chinese stocks of 35 railway cars (70 TEU) will be arriving at Manchuria PSC station and then transferred to the Russian track with the enlarged stock of 57 cars.

The two-way cargo transportation keeps increasing at the Russian-Chinese railway border crossing Grodekovo - Suifenghe, reports RIA Novosty quoting Alexander Artamonov, spokesman of the Vladivostok branch of the Far East Railway.
According to A.Artamonov, in 2006 there was transported 7.6 mn tons of cargo via the border crossing Grodekovo - Suifenghe.

The time for border crossing for all types of vehicles is to be reduced from the current 3 hours to 40-50 minutes in 2005, said German Gref, the Minister of economic development and trade addressing the Federal Customs Service Board on December 17 2004.
The time reduction will result from reducing the number of the authorities controlling the border crossing process from 7 at present to 2 - the Federal border control service and the federal customs service.
