In 2005 the ferrous metals handling in the Ukrainian river ports was up 6.9% or 1,586.2 th.tons.
Sevastopol Fishery port handled 1,160.1 th.tons of metal cargo (+8.8%) year-on-year, Ilyichevsk handled 426.1 th.tons of metals (+1%).
Sevastopol handled 1,597.2 th.tons of transit oil products (-14.4%), Kerch port - 55.4 th.tons (-61.4%).
All in all the throughput of the Ukrainian river ports made 4,177.4 th.tons of cargo (+3.1).

The federal state enterprise Rosmorport applied to the European Reconstruction and Development Bank to finance its project on the ships' traffic control systems improvement.
The project includes the construction of the buildings and facilities and mounting of the radio equipment for the ships' traffic control systems in the ports of Murmansk, Baltiysk, and in the regional ships' control system in the Kerch strait.
This project is expected to reduce the accidents at sea, according to the press service of the Rosmorport.

The Zaliv Shipyard (Kerch, Ukraine) has completed the construction of the chemical tanker hull to the order of the Spanish company Naval Gijon, reports the Diamant bank, which financed the construction.
The 38 th.tons dwt tanker hull is aimed for the construction of the chemical tanker to the Norwegian company Knutsen.
The project is worth 8 mn euros.
