In January-March of the current year the grain handling via the RF South Ports increased by 51.8% and totaled 2521.2 thousand tons. In the first quarter 2007 almost all ports of the Azov and Black Sea region showed positive dynamics. The exceptions are the port of Tuapse (-14.1%), Temruk and Kavkaz (-96%).

On April 11 the rail ferry "SMAT" successfully moored at Poti, told SeaNews the Odessa Maritime Engineering Bureau, which designed the ship. On April 12 trial reel-up of railway cars with manganese crystals and scrap metals was held with the bulk of 80 tons each on all the 5 vessel's paths. During the sea trials held on 26-27 of March "SMAT" reached the speed of 10 knots using 75% of its two engines power. "SMAT" was built by the Kherson Shipyard for Reserve Capital Corp.

Stage 1 of the new logistic terminal under construction on the junction of rail roads leading to the ports of Novorossiysk, Temryuk, Kavkaz and Zhelezny Rog is to be completed by the end of this year. According to Vladimir Goloskokov, head of the North Caucasian Railway, the annual capacity of the terminal will make 10 mn tons.

In January-November Anroskrym JSC increased the volumes by 71.3% up to 1,435.2 th.tons, Temryuk and Kavkaz ports increased the volumes by 11.8% and 17.1% to 1,038.6 th.tons and 743.4 th.tons respectively.

According to the Taman based affiliate of the state ederal enterprise Rosmorport, in H1 2006 the Temryuk and Kavkaz ports including the ferry crossing Anroskrym JSC and Tamansky handling complex increased the handling volumes by 299.9% - to 3,573.8 th.tons. In January-June Anroskrym JSC handled 881.8 th.tons of cargoes which exceeds the results of the year 2005 4.2 times. Temryuk and Kavkaz ports increased the handling volumes by 12.9% - to 543.9 th.tons and 35.1% - to 485 th.tons respectively.
