June 16, 2004, a ceremony to officially open stage 1 of LUKoil's oil and product terminal (called LUKoil-2) was held in the port of Vysotsk, Leningrad region.
The ceremony was attended by RF Premier Mikhail Fradkov, Chairman of the Federation Council Sergey Mironov, President's Plenipotentiary in the North-West Ilia Klebanov, Governor of Leningrad Oblast Balery Serdyukov, President of Russian Railways JSV Gennady Fadeev, etc.
The terminal actually started operating on May 18, when LUKoil's tanker "Kaliningrad" took on board a test load of 18.1 thousand tons for Rotterdam.
The terminal capacity at stage1 is 4.7 mln.

IST Group Vice President Nikolay Dobrinov announced last week an intention to acquire the blocking stock of JSC Northern Shipyards - the major rival of Baltic Shipyards, which is member of the group.
The collision of interests of the two shipyards arose this January, when ex-Vice Premier Ilia Klebanov announced a tender on the construciton of two torpedo-boat destroyers against the contract concluded between Rosoboronexport and China.
