The company Alfa Capital Partners announced that Great Circle Fund LP to invest $21.1 mn in the holding STS Logistics. “We monitor with a great interest the Russian logistic sectors and think that STS Logistics can be successful at this market as in Russia so in Commonwealth of Independent States”, - comments Hugh Crookes, the partner of the company Great Circle Capital. “ Despite the fact that the company hand a great experience in multimodal logistics and cargo transportation sometimes it could not offer its customers complex logistics solutions due to the lack of warehousing areas.

AN official of Shanghai port authority said the harbour would focus on developing eight areas during the current 11th Five-year Plan, Xinhua reported. These include the three port areas along the upper stream, middle stream and lower stream of Huangpu River, the Baoshan Luojing port area, the Waigaoqiao port area, the Hangzhou Bay port area, the Yangshan port area and the Congming port area. According to the plan, the Huangpu River upper stream port area will become a bulk handling and integrated logistics area to serve local city industries.

During 27 months of the operative activity Russkaya Troyka paid 1 007 629 214 rubles as the railroad tariff due to the additional cargo base, reports the press-service of the company. During the period of the operational activity the company transported 109 572 TEU, including 55 052 TEU of cargo re-orientated from the deep sea route to the Russian infrastructure. In the first half of the current year it transported 43 872 TEU.

Russian Railways, JSC will invest more than 60 bn rubles in the infrastructure of the high-speed route Saint-Petersburg - Buslovskaya - Helsinki, reports AK&M. This project includes the development of the railway infrastructure of the section saint-Petersburg - Vyborg - Buslovskaya, re-direction of cargo transportation via Saint-Petersburg - Sosnovo, building of the new road Losevo-Kamenogorsk and the second main rail road between Kamenogorsk and Vyborg. It is expected to finish the project in 2009-2010.
